Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are reportedly splitting up after five years of marriage.

According to reports, actors Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes after five years of marriage are divorcing

A statement from Holmes's lawyer said: "This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family."

They have one child together, Suri, who is six-years-old.

Rihanna Escapes, Tweets Pics of London Hotel Fire

Rihanna was among 300 people evacuated from the Corinthia Hotel in London, England, after an early-morning fire broke out inside an elevator shaft.
The 24-year-old “We Found Love” singer tweeted news of the fire early Wednesday to her followers, posting a picture of a fire engine and the words:
“Roamin da streets since 6am! Fyah in da telly.”

What would a day be without Rihanna pictures in Instagram, Tweeted with her take on life? A lot less interesting, for sure. We're glad she's okay.
A London Fire Brigade spokesman told the media that no one was injured in the fire, but the flames did cause a bit of damage to the seventh floor.
When she's not kissing Justin Bieber, Rih has been in London for several performances, including BBC Radio 1′s Hackney Weekend concert series.

Russell Brand Billboard Vandalized With Katy Perry Diss

Russell Brand's new TV show, Brand X, isn't getting a whole lot of support. At least not from funny graffiti artists around the greater L.A. area....
Brand Billboard
Katy's 3D movie isn't even out yet (check out the Katy Perry: Part of Me trailer), but some clever, adventurous vandal clearly isn't a fan of Russell's new show.
The billboard seen above is located on L.A.'s Sunset Blvd. Hey, if you're going to deface someone else's property, you might as well be somewhat creative.
FYI, you can check out Russell's Brand X tonight on FX after Charlie Sheen's much talked-about new show Anger Management and Louis CK's Louie.

Jennifer Aniston not engaged to Justin Theroux

It looks like Jennifer Aniston is in no rush to walk down the aisle once again as rumors of a possible engagement to Justin Theroux are being shot down.
The two were recently on vacation when Aniston was spotted wearing a ring on that oh-so important finger, states People. However, it turns out that the ring in question is the same one she has been wearing since they started dating.
Aniston and Theroux have been sporting matching rings since their early days together.
The trip they were on included stops in Paris and Rome.
Do you think they’ll end up engaged?

Lady Gaga Debuts ‘Princess Die’ Live In Australia

Lady Gaga performs her first concert in Melbourne
Lady Gaga debuted a new song for a cheering crowd on the Melbourne, Australia, stop of her Born This Way Ball tour on June 26.
Seated at a motorcycle-shaped piano, the pop superstar belted out “Princess Die,” a controversy-courting ballad that “is a little bit sad,” Gaga confessed.
“I wrote it a little while ago, and I’ve never ever played it for anyone,” Mother Monster told the crowd. “I’m going to play it because I’ve been really excited and impressed with how many super fans have been at every show. I truly feel it would be a disservice to all of you to not play it before I leave.”
So is the somber new song a preview of her upcoming CD?

She continued, “This song may or may not be on my next album. It’s in no way reflective of the rest of music on the album, but it’s about some of the most deep and personal thoughts I’ve ever had.”

Leona Lewis denies Adele duet at Olympics opening ceremony

Singer Leona Lewis has said that she will not be performing at the London 2012 opening ceremony, with or without Adele.

Singer Leona Lewis has denied that she is duetting with Adele at the London 2012 opening ceremony.
Singer Leona Lewis has denied that she is duetting with Adele at the London 2012 opening ceremony.
After weeks of speculation, Leona Lewis has denied that she will perform at the Olympics opening ceremony.
The Hackney-born singer has said reports that she is duetting with fellow Brit School graduate Adele at the Olympic stadium are "unfortunately... not true".
"I'm not performing there, with or without Adele," she told the Daily Star. "I would obviously love to, though. She's incredible."
It's been three years since Lewis released her last album, Echo, and she plans to release her third album, Glassheart, later this year, with the song Trouble, written by Emeli Sandé as the first single.
Talking about the album, Lewis said: "All the songs are strong. I'm so proud of it. It has a dark edge and even has a bit of dubstep in it. I just want my fans to hear it now."

Jessie J sued over hit 'Domino'

British singer and The Voice judge Jessie J faces a copyright infringement lawsuit over similarities between her number one single 'Domino' and American artist Will Loomis's song 'Bright Red Chords', reports suggest.

Pop artist Jessie J is being sued by American singer Will Loomis due to "substantially similar compositional elements" between her hit Domino and his song Bright Red Chords, released with band Loomis & the Lust in 2009, according to reports.
The attorneys of California-based Loomis claim that Jessie J and her co-songwriters "wilfully infringed" on copyright and sold "millions of copies of their derivative work", resulting in "significant ill-gotten commercial advantage".
The 24-year-old British singer – real name Jessica Cornish – and her representatives have been contacted for their response to the lawsuit but are yet to comment.
Documents filed to the United States District Court on Monday by Loomis's legal team added:
"Will Loomis is a rising star in the music business. [Bright Red Chords] is among Loomis's most popular [songs]. It was written in 2008 and rapidly gained popularity."
They are seeking a jury trial and at least $150,000 in damages.
Addressing the matter on Facebook, Loomis wrote:
"When I wrote this melody in my garage I never imagined it would be sung for the King and Queen of England and I especially never imagined it would be sung by Jessie J."
He also posted a video of Jessie J performing Domino at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert earlier this month on Twitter, with the comment: "check out Jessie J playing our song for the King and Queen."
Domino is listed as being written by Cornish, along with Lukasz Gottwald, Claude Kelly, Max Martin, Henry Walter. Taken from her debut album Who You Are, it reached number one in the UK singles chart earlier this year.
Loomis and the Lust gained recognition in 2010 when they won the $25,000 prize at the Artist on the Verge contest in the USA. The band, whose MySpace site describes their music as "a top notch pop rock sound that swirls with a light-hearted, fun-time attitude", have self-released two EPs since 2009.
See below for a video posted by on Loomis and the Lust's YouTube page which blends Bright Red Chords and Domino together to highlight the alleged similarities between them:

Casablanca Oscar could fetch record $3million

Oscar statuette won by director Michael Curtiz for the 1942 classic Casablanca is being sold at auction in Los Angeles.

Michael Curtiz's best director Oscar for the movie classic 'Casablanca' is shown in this undated publicity photograph. The statuette is going up for auction this week in Los Angeles.
Michael Curtiz's best director Oscar
An Oscar statuette could sell for a record $3million (£1,925,000) tomorrow when the Best Director Academy Award handed to Michael Curtiz for the 1942 classic Casablanca is due to be sold.
Casablanca, which celebrated its 70th anniversary in February, starred Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, and the film also won Oscars for Best Picture and Best Screenplay. Casablanca, set during World War Two, has been named by the American Film Institute as the third best film of the past 100 years.
Hungarian-born director Curtiz died in April 1962 aged 75. His Oscar was previously sold in 2003 by Christie’s for $231,500 to magician David Copperfield but bosses at Los Angeles auctioneers Nate D. Sanders are refusing to name the latest seller. At the start of the week, 21 bidders had already registered their interest in the Casablanca gold-plated statuette.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences loathes the auctioning of Oscars, believing it lessens the prestige of the prize. After an online sale in February of 15 statuettes raised $3m, the Academy issued a statement saying: "Oscars should be won, not purchased,” adding that it had no “legal means of stopping the commoditisation of these particular statuettes.”
The Academy can stop the sale of trophies awarded after 1950, because that year organisers made winners sign a legal agreement stating that should they wish to sell their statuettes, they must first offer them back to the Academy, for $1.
Last December, Nate D. Sanders sold Orson Welles' Oscar for his screenplay of Citizen Kane for $861,000, and in 1999 the best picture Oscar for Gone With the Wind was bought by singer Michael Jackson for a record $1.54 million.

Katy Perry Zooey Deschanel

In our newest ‘Celeb Look-Alikes’ series,we comparing pop stars to their celebrity doubles. Today, we are bringing you two stars who have been said to look just like one another since both of them became mainstream names — Katy Perry and actress/singer Zooey Deschanel. When Perry isn’t sporting cotton candy pink hair and sticks to brunette shades, the likeness between the raven-haired beauties is uncanny. With similar bone structure and big beautiful eyes, it is impossible not to see the similarities between Ms. Perry and her famous doppelganger.

Adam Levine Gets Battered + Bruised in Maroon 5′s ‘One More Night’ Video

Maroon 5It’s here, you guys! Maroon 5‘s video ‘One More Night’ was just released and now we get to bask in some shirtless Adam Levine ambiance. Also, we were totally right about what we thought was going on in the vid based on the behind the scenes look — 10 points for Gryffindor!
‘One More Night’ features actress as Minka Kelly as Levine’s girlfriend, but things aren’t what they seem for the couple and their baby daughter. “I play a heartbreaker, I guess,” she said in the behind-the-scenes clip. “I do very bad things … but necessary.” We’d do very bad things too, but in a totally different context.
While his boxing career is taking off, his relationship is suffering and that was the last straw. He’s fighting the fight of his life — literally — and when he steps in the ring to cheers, she packs her bags. He wins and comes home, and the house is empty. We couldn’t even fathom leaving him; and him playing a father just makes us want him even more. There’s just something so hot about a bruised Adam Levine (both physically and emotionally).

Rihanna Caught in Middle of Another Fight

Rihanna
First her own drama with Karrueche Tran, then the nightclub brawl between Chris Brown and Drake, now this. Who’s fighting for Rihanna this time?
Turns out it’s actually her bodyguard. The ‘Where Have You Been’ singer was exiting a nightclub (where else does she hang out?) in London when one of her goons went off on a paparazzo.
Rihanna’s bodyguard was trying to clear a space for the songstress to get into her vehicle without any issues, but TMZ reports that a photog got uncomfortably close to the car. The guard pretty much just wanted RiRi to exit the Whiskey Mist nightclub quickly and safely — hey, it makes his own job easier if she stays out of trouble. That’s tough to do when flashes are going off and people are swarming your SUV!
The guard wasn’t pleased with one pesky paparazzo who insisted on snapping shots when the group was trying to bounce, and said guard wasted no time trying to reason with the guy. Instead, he punched him square in the face, knocking him down.
Rihanna was already in the car when the incident — and photographer — went down. Rihanna may go hard, but her goons punch hard.

Biggest Rap Star of 2012

When you look back on the year 2012 and rap music, a few standout artists will undoubtedly come to mind, whether it be for production credits or solo material. Out of the handful of rap stars that we’ve selected, including Wiz Khalifa, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z and Nicki Minaj, we want to know who gets your vote for the Biggest Rap Star of 2012.
Kicking off things is ‘No Lie’ rapper 2 Chainz, who is featured on just about every big single from 2012, from ‘Beez in the Trap’ to ‘Mercy.’ Like 2 Chainz, A$AP Rocky is another up-and-comer who is continuing to make a name for himself in 2012 with singles like ‘Goldie,’ as is ‘Liquorice’ lady rapper and Harlem native Azealia Banks.
The year 2012 also sees Big Sean moving out of newcomer territory as he becomes a bonafide superstar thanks to hits like ‘Dance (A$$)’ and his G.O.O.D. Music endeavors. Additionally, Drake continues to get his fans going with singles off of the ‘Take Care’ LP and his Club Paradise tour, while fellow Young Money artists Tyga, Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne dominate the airwaves with newly released tracks.
Also on the list is J. Cole, who is finding more success in 2012 with his Missy Elliott-featured single ‘Nobody’s Perfect.’ Same goes for his mentor Jay-Z, who is still holding down the Throne with Kanye West — who’s also released solo songs such as ‘Cold’ this year — well into 2012. Eminem also made the cut… Why, do you ask? Because of his production work with a number of artists, including his Slaughterhouse cronies for the supergroup’s second LP ‘Welcome to: Our House.’ And honestly, will Slim Shady ever lose favor among fans?

Miley Cyrus getting married this weekend?

Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus

Next

Miley Cyrus took to her Twitter page to reveal that her coming week will be filled with happiness, leaving speculation as to what the source of joy could be.

It's been less than a month since Liam Hemsworth popped the question to the 19-year-old actress with a 3.5-carat diamond stunner from jeweller Neil Lane.

'Super lazy Sunday! Can't wait for next week! It'll be filled with happiness,' People magazine quoted her as posting on Twitter.

The Hannah Montana star didn't say whether she planned on tying the knot in the next few days, which has left the source of her 'happiness' up for discussion.

Hemsworth's rep, however, denied that he and Cyrus were planning to tie the knot this week, telling Gossip Cop that the Aussie is busy filming his new movie in New Orleans and is only 'back in L.A. for a night next week to receive an award from Australians in Film on the 27th.'

The Avengers Assemble $600 Million Domestically

The Avengers28 The Avengers Assemble $600 Million DomesticallyIn what is probably the least surprising news of the week, THE AVENGERS has become the third film in history to gross over $600 million at the US box office. It is now sitting comfortably behind TITANIC (1997), and will certainly pass that film’s original run of $600.8 million. However, TITANIC 3D added an extra $58 million to that total earlier this year. It is unlikely that THE AVENGERS will pass AVATAR (2009) and its $760 million total, as next week will see the opening of fellow comic book super-hero THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, and then a little film known as THE DARK KNIGHT RISES following two weeks later.
Many will argue that this isn’t that impressive when taking into account inflation. Inflation leaves THE AVENGERS at number 27 domestically, just behind GREASE (1978), MARY POPPINS (1964) and FORREST GUMP (1994). I can’t imagine any film ever beating GONE WITH THE WIND’s (1938) adjusted gross of $1.6 billion. Critics will also yell and shout about the prices of 3D showings, but let’s remember back in the day the cinema was the only place to see these films, making repeat viewings a necessity.
Worldwide, THE AVENGERS is also the number three grossing film of all time. It has accumulated $1.4 billion and is still yet to open in Japan, which will surely add a few pennies into the pot. Overall, this is fantastic news for Disney and Marvel. IRON MAN 3, THOR 2, and CAPTAIN AMERICA 2 are already under way whether in pre-production or filming.
IRON MAN 3 is released 3rd May 2013 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, and Ben Kingsley. THOR 2 is scheduled for a 15th November 2013 release. It stars Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston. CAPTAIN AMERICA 2 is set for a 4th April 2014 release. It will star Chris Evans and Samuel L. Jackson.

Holly-woof! Uggie Paws-es To Cement His (Four) Leg-acy

Yes, yes there will be more terrible Dog related puns in this piece so be prepared. After being coller-ed for a starring role in THE ARTIST and wowing everyone by being almost as good as Oscar winner Jean Dujardin Uggie the Dog has been immortalised outside Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Uggie is the first Dog to have this honour which is incredible when you consider the tremendous canine performances in the past including that big dog in BEETHOVEN and the dog in K-9 they must be barking mad to have overlooked them! That’s all for the puns even I’m tired of it now.
We’ve got a picture of little Uggie in all his glory below and we’re delighted that he has his space next to greats like Peter O’Toole, Christopher Walken and (cough) Alvin and the Chipmunks.
Uggie Holly woof! Uggie Paws es To Cement His (Four) Leg acy
So what do you reckon of this, was it cruel to put an animal in cement or should we embrace the animal actors out there?

Could Jena Malone Be Featuring In ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’?

resize 20110324132449 Could Jena Malone Be Featuring In The Hunger Games: Catching Fire?Since the blinding success of the first film in the trilogy, it has been an all-out rumour war surrounding THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE. Nearly every week another actor has been listed as ‘in the running’ or ‘has secured a character’ in the second film. Today is no exception – reports are surfacing that Jena Malone is in the running to play slick and sly tribute Johanna Mason.
As described in Suzanne Collins’ novel, Mason is a determined, hard-willed tribute who pretends to be weak and unwilling, only to turn on her opponents and goes in for the kill. Malone has previously featured in DONNIE DARKO, THE UNITED STATES OF LELAND, PRIDE AND PREJUDICE and 2011′s SUCKER PUNCH, giving her a great mix of roles and experiences. Having seen what Jennifer Lawrence can do as Katniss Everdeen, I’m sure Malone wouldn’t disappoint if she accepted the role.
Now it’s just down to CATCHING FIRE’s director, Francis Lawrence (I AM LEGEND), to decide if he wants to keep or rework the opening scene – where Johanna first meets Katniss…naked. We’ll have to wait and see.

Ryan Reynolds Officially Confirmed For ‘Highlander’ Remake!

RyanReynolds Ryan Reynolds Officially Confirmed For Highlander Remake! Last monthTHN announced Ryan Reynolds was in the running to take the lead of Connor MacLeod in Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s HIGHLANDER remake. The immortal Scottish swordsman was previously played by Christopher Lambert in Russell Mulcahy’s 1986 classic sci-fi as well as three sequels.
THN can now confirm that Reynolds will indeed take the role created by Gregory Widen. The actor who made his name with comedies like VAN WILDER and JUST FRIENDS, has created himself as something of action hero after impressing with roles in BURIED and SAFE HOUSE. With the unfortunate GREEN LANTERN and X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, I’ve always felt, much like Adam Sandler, he’s an actor that’s difficult not to like even with those dire efforts on his resume.
So with his confirmation as the sword-swinging immortal, the focus of the casting will now turn to that of Sean Connery’s mentor and the towering villain, The Kurgan (last played by the great Clancy Brown). Do you have any thoughts on who should take over?

Lovely Molly Review

lovely molly Lovely Molly ReviewDirector: Eduardo Sanchez
Starring: Gretchen Lodge, Johnny Lewis, Alexandra Holden, Ken Arnold
Running Time: 99 minutes

Certificate: 15
Synopsis: Newlywed Molly moves into her deceased father’s house in the countryside, where painful memories soon begin to haunt her.
LOVELY MOLLY is the brainchild of Eduardo Sanchez, part of the driving force behind cult-favourite THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT. On this occasion, he directs and has co-written with Jamie Nash in this truly disturbing new take on the haunted house narrative.
Lovely Molly Post Lovely Molly ReviewThe star of proceedings is Gretchen Lodge, who plays Molly Reynolds, who has recently got married. For some unbeknown reason, she has returned to her old family dwelling with her new husband Tim (Johnny Lewis) to set up home. But this isn’t any old house, oh no, it has been long abandoned after the death of both her parents there many years before, plus – we’re led to believe – Molly was once in a psychiatric hospital but is now seemingly okay to tie the knot and move back there, even though she hasn’t lived there for years.
Upon moving back into the desolate family home, where only old and dusty furniture exists, it transpires that Molly works as a cleaner in a local mall and her husband, Tim, drives trucks for a living (although doesn’t appear to own one) and they’re the couple who try-to-make-ends-meet. Not long into their awful wedded life and on her Birthday, Tim picks up some work and has to go, leaving her alone and isolated in the house…in the middle of the woods. Luckily for Molly, her pot-smoking sister Hannah (Alexandra Holden) comes to visit. Initially, Hannah is resistant at sharing her weed and suggests Molly has had previous ‘trouble’ with drugs but before you know it, she’s sharing the joint and what’s better than a little subtle paranoia to set off someone’s psychotic psychosis? That night, she starts to hear voices, childhood memories injected with repressed flashbacks kick off and things begin to spiral out of control.
Lovely Molly ReviewOn the positive side, Sanchez really shows off his talent when he builds an uncomfortable mix of extreme tension and the nail-biting unknown, throw in some psychological displacement to your lead character and you’re really hooked to see what barriers the character will break. Unfortunately, so many aspects of LOVELY MOLLY dissolve into depravity and the quintessential evil, it takes us back to the big question: Why did she move back here and what purpose does any of this downfall have? It’s fair to occasionally suspend disbelief but when the gaping plot-holes are so prominent, it can be difficult to give excessive praise. There’s also a question of whether the director wants this to be a found-footage film or not. Is ‘BLAIR WITCH’ Sanchez so comfortable with shuddery-camcorder, that he can’t let it go? LOVELY MOLLY can’t decide whether it wants to play it straight and it’s utterly distracting.
LOVELY MOLLY isn’t for the faint-hearted and even though it starts and builds promisingly, CABIN IN THE WOODS recently flipped this genre on its head and in such an impressive and immersive way. Gretchen Lodge is strong in the lead and offers the viewer an impressive psychotic breakdown, but in an often over-diluted genre, LOVELY MOLLY descends into downright pointless insanity and then implodes.

All Three ‘Avatar’ Sequels To Be Filmed Simultaneously?

avatar1 300x225 All Three Avatar Sequels To Be Filmed Simultaneously? It has been confirmed that James Cameron is to film not just two, but three AVATAR sequels all at the same time. Even the mere concept of this strikes fear in to my lazy heart. When will he have time to go to the bathroom? The news came from star of the first film, Sigourney Weaver, who, during a recent interview, admits to not knowing how it’ll work exactly, but says that she’ll ‘Just show up.’ Probably the best attitude to have when faced with filming three, gruelling, long awaited and highly-anticipated  blockbusters simultaneously. Despite the fate that Weaver’s character suffered in the first instalment, it appears that she’ll be returning, all blued-up, for all three sequels. Think the idea of that fazes Ripley? Hell no!
Producer Jon Landau has previously stated that the earliest possible release date for AVATAR 2 would be 2014, and more recently sources have said that filming would commence in autumn of this year. If this is the case, it’s going to be a hell of a long year in Pandora for cast and crew. But after the first film in the franchise made more than $2 billion at the box office, I wouldn’t say no.

First Stills From Indie Thriller ‘Empire State’

EMPIREPic2 120626215300 575x383 First Stills From Indie Thriller Empire State
Whilst both Liam Hemsworth and Dwayne Johnson have seen their acting careers rise significantly over the last year with big-budget efforts THE HUNGER GAMES and FAST & FURIOUS 5 respectively, their first collaboration together will be the small indie thriller EMPIRE STATE. The film will portray real-life events of a robbery of an armoured car company by two best friends, during the 1980s.
Johnson has coincidentally just completed work a similar feature, Michael Bay’s PAIN OR GAIN, another fact-based heist-gone-wrong story from the ’80s. However, this time he’ll be playing a cop on the trail of the duo as opposed to a body-building crook, he will portray in Bay’s passion project.
EMPIRE STATE is being directed by Dito Montiel, whose last effort was the disappointing thriller THE SON OF NO ONE starring Channing Tatum, Al Pacino and Ray Liotta. The film will also star Emma Roberts, Jerry Ferrara, Michael Angarano, Nikki Reed and Chris Diamantopoulos.  Below we have the first stills from the film set for release next summer

John Mayer Slams Taylor Swift as "Cheap" BS Artist

John Mayer might just wanna take Rolling Stone off his speed dial at this point.
A couple years after going off to the magazine about how he has masturbated himself "out of some serious problems in my life," the singer has once again made headline in an interview with the publication.
This time for comments aimed squarely at ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift and related to the following single, "Dear John."
"It made me feel terrible," Mayer says of the revenge-based song, whose lyrics include Swift saying she was "too young to be messed with."
Mayer says he didn't "deserve" the diss and went on to say he "never got an email [or] phone call" about his ex - John and Taylor reportedly hooked up in early 2010 - releasing the track for the world to hear.
"["Dear John" is] cheap songwriting," the artist adds "It's abusing your talent to rub your hands together and go, 'Wait til he gets a load of this!' That's bullsh-t.. I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you've ever been, someone kicked you even lower?"
We'd feel terrible. We'd also never refer to a former girlfriend as "sexual napalm," nor would we drop the N word in a nationally-syndicated interview. But maybe that's just us.

W.i.P. Nightclub to Tony Parker: Chris Brown and Drake Ain't Biggie and Tupac!

W.i.P. nightclub feels Tony Parker's lawsuit against them is baseless and that there is no way they could have predicted the melee that went down.
NBA star Parker filed a $20 million lawsuit this week, claiming the club is responsible for the Chris Brown-Drake fight in which he was injured.
Parker sustained a scratched retina from shards of glass flying after Brown, Drake, Meek Mill and threw down, requiring eye surgery as a result.
Tony Parker PicChris Brown: Fight Time?Dreezy
Tony says it's obvious "there was bad blood between Drake and Brown" (allegedly over Rihanna) and that W.i.P. staff should have known better.
Moreover, he says they fueled matters by selling their posses alcohol.
But sources close to the club, which has been shuttered, say Drake and Chris Brown are not prone to violence ... at least not toward other dudes.
The club feels the fight was out of its control, and as for the alleged bad blood, a source said, "Chris Brown and Drake are not Biggie and Tupac."
Parker also suggested that the club was way understaffed, which W.i.P. refutes, saying that 15 security guards were working the night in question.
So far, no charges have been filed related to the brawl, though the club was closed indefinitely and the case is still under investigation by the NYPD.

Fabian Zanzi Sues John Travolta For Assault

Fabian Zanzi, the cruise ship employee who claims John Travolta exposed himself to him during a massage in 2009, is suing the actor for assault.
Zanzi is suing for unspecified damages, TMZ reports.
Travolta, who was a passenger on the ship, ordered food and asked that Fabian Zanzi personally deliver it to his Royal Caribbean room, the accuser says.
Travolta Head Shot
When Zanzi came in, Travolta allegedly asked for a neck massage, then when Zanzi asked for his neck, John exposed his erect penis instead.
He then forcefully embraced him, Fabian said. Zanzi resisted.
Fabian, who did not initially claim sexual assault, claims that Travolta offered him $12,000 to not say anything, and that the cruise ship management "refused to allow him to write out any details regarding nudity or sexual contact" with the star.
Two masseurs also came forward with lawsuits this spring, claiming the Hollywood legend assaulted them sexually; both suits have since been dropped. Robert Randolph and Doug Gotterba have separately alleged gay trysts with Travolta.
Travolta's attorney just released a statement regarding Zanzi's lawsuit, claiming, "This is another ludicrous lawsuit with inane claims."

Selena Gomez Seeks Swift Fun on Next Album

Selena Gomez does not know when she'll release her next album.
But the lucky young woman on the arm of Justin Bieber does have an idea of who she wants to collaborate with when that day comes.
Selena Gomez in White
"I... want to work with Fun. I also want to work with Taylor," Gomez tells Ace Showbiz, referring of course to her famous close pal. "I want to go for producers that probably wouldn't want me to do their songs. I just want to knock on their door... I want to work with just different styles of music. So I just want to do different things for this album."
Does Selena have any idea when she might even get to work on the CD? Vaguely. But she's been busy with other endeavors recently.
"I finished three movies this year, so I'm very happy about that, because it's exactly what I wanted: I wanted to do film for a little bit," Selena says. "But I am missing music, so we're going to start on the fourth record at the end of this year."

Keeping tradition alive at the Morocco arts festival

marrakech-popular-arts-festival

Horse-drawn carriages, bands and dancers took to the streets of Marrakesh on Wednesday in celebration of Morocco’s annual National Popular Arts Festival.
The five-day event kicked off with traditional musicians and dancers from around Morocco dressed in a colorful theme which moved through the ancient city.
The participants celebrated in a three-kilometre-long parade which ended at Jamaa El Fna square and market, known not only for its food stalls but also for its traditional storytellers and snake charmers.
Foreign tourists found themselves enriched with the entertainment on offer.
French tourist Martine Daniel said she was impressed by the parade. “It is really superb. We have never seen this before. In France, we don’t have anything like this. It is really magnificent, beautiful and well done. Super. I have nothing to say. They definitely worked hard on it,” she said.
Her husband, Herve Daniel, said he and his wife, who were taking a week-long holiday in Marrakesh, had not been expecting to witness such a colorful event.
“We were not expecting this, not at all. We have carnivals in France, but not like this. Very beautiful costumes. It’s perfect,” he said.
The annual event was first held in 1960, originally called the “Folklore Festival of Marrakesh,” which highlighted traditional and cultural diversity from various parts of Morocco.
Over the years the popular festival has come to be known as the prime showcase for regional Moroccan traditions illustrated through music, dancing and local costumes worn by participating performers from all over the country.
Six hundred artists from 18 Moroccan musical and dance bands are taking part in the festival at the historic Badii Palace.
Brahim El Mzaned, this year’s festival artistic director says they have to find a way of attracting young people to the event to safeguard and perpetuate traditional popular arts.
Mzaned said: “This year, we are working on reviving the bands. Usually, young people are not very keen on traditional music but we are witnessing that more and more of them are taking interest in this music and in popular arts. They are also showing interest in the cultural diversity and this is very important,” he said.
But the challenge facing the festival’s organizers is how to preserve traditional artistic guidelines but still appeal to the younger crowds who no longer identify themselves with traditional music and other time-honoured art forms.
Mohammed Nait Ali the festival’s director said involving young people in the parade and stage performances have helped in bridging the gap between the artistic tastes of the young and old.
The festival, which ends on June 24, has a variety of performances, stalls selling traditional items and musical workshops available to the general public as well as visitors.

Oprah serves up Kardashian dish: Kim on Kanye, Bruce on Kim

She won't go so far as to confess that Kanye West is her new prince, but Kim Kardashian does gush to Oprah Winfrey in part 2 of O's epic Kardashian klatch, airing Sunday on OWN, about her old friend/new boyfriend:
"It's very comforting to have someone that knows everything about you, that respects you, understands, has gone through similar things. I can really relate to his mother passing. He can really relate to my father passing. I mean, there's so many similarities in our life that, I feel like I'm at a really happy good space and there's, you know, I don't know why it took, you know, so long for us to kind of get together."
But Kim's pesky past continues to rear its head. Bruce Jenner says he wishes he could take back "the whole wedding thing":
"We went so overboard on that. And the way it turned out and everything. ... Because I mean at the time it was honest, it was love, it was exact, I mean, I was all in, you know? But then it turned so quickly. ... I was hoping it would work."
Khloe, too, defends her own marriage, insisting, "This is my real life." And she maintains that she stays out of the gossip fray (the ubiquitous cameras notwithstanding): "I don't get tabloids. I try to not go on blogs. But does it come to me through, of course, like, our publicist or this or that or my sisters or, yeah, you have even like my grandmother will text me and be like, so, you're having twins? And I was like, 'Not yet. I'm sorry. I'll tell you.' "

MOVIE REVIEW: ‘Rock of Ages’ far from rocks

The only thing that rocks about “Rock of Ages” is the music.

Tom Cruise stars as rocker Stacee Jaxx in the rock musical "Rock of Ages."

Many members of the audience will find themselves singing along to hits by Journey, Bon Jovi, Twisted Sister, Def Leppard, Guns N’ Roses and other classic ’80s rock bands. The songs are performed by what is, on paper, a great cast with the likes of Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand and Catherine Zeta-Jones, none of which do a poor job with the vocals.

Unfortunately, the positives pretty much stop there.

The film revolves around Sherrie (Julianne Hough), a small-town girl from Oklahoma, and Drew (Diego Boneta), an aspiring musician who works in L.A.’s famous Bourbon Room bar and concert venue. Both are looking to achieve their goals of becoming a rock ’n’ roll star, but obstacles lie in their path. Along the way, they meet the quintessential rock star in Stacee Jaxx (Cruise), who is everything that is right and wrong with the music industry at the time.

"rock of Ages,” originally a musical performed on Broadway, has come to the big screen but probably should have stayed on the stage. The music keeps the film interesting, but the acting is less than what you would expect from the talented cast, and the plot takes too many unnecessary detours.

The best example of a detour would be Patricia Whitmore (Zeta-Jones), who is the mayor’s wife in the film, and her feeble attempts to shut down the Bourbon Room and prove that rock ’n’ roll is the devils music. The main reason for having this element of the film is to provide some opposition to rock ’n’ roll, but way too many scenes are devoted to it.

In contrast, more of Cruise’s character is needed; two of the songs he performs, “Wanted Dead or Alive” by Bon Jovi and “Pour Some Sugar on Me” by Def Leppard are two of the best in the film, but after Stacee’s original appearance at the Bourbon Room at the beginning, far too little is seen of him.

Because it is a musical, there is always going to be some focus on the vocals of the characters. Finding out that Baldwin and Cruise can sing a bit was actually a pleasant surprise. I assure you, the vocal talent of actors who do not normally sing is not the issue in the film, but more the acting that goes on outside of singing. Although musicals are known more for the songs and voices rather than pure acting, the fact is that this is a Hollywood movie with actors who have good reputations as actors.

Boneta and Hough have decent singing voices, but as far as I could tell can’t act a lick. Even Zeta-Jones, who is normally known for her good performances, comes up short. Anyone who saw her in “Chicago” would think that she would fit right in with this film, but that is not the case.

Another fatal flaw in this film is that it does not seem to know if it’s trying to be serious or funny. There are scenes in which it starts to get the audience to buy in, but then something weird or a quick plot jump will happen, leaving the viewer confused and a bit irritated. Also, the only characters the audience really gets to know are Sherrie and Drew; everyone else, including Stacee Jaxx, is left without a clear explanation of what they want or who they really are.

Katy Perry: 'I Still Believe In Love'

Katy Perry
Katy Perry says that despite the end of her marriage to Russell Brand, she has faith in love. "I still believe in love and marriage. I've just learned lessons along the way. I regret nothing," she told Hollywood Reporter.
That said, the pop superstar admits times we tough while she was on her world tour. "What was going on in my personal life was so overwhelming that I had to bend over to let those tears fall straight out of my eye sockets and not my false lashes just as I'm about to go up on that ramp and sing Teenage Dream.
"I had to smack myself across the face and say, 'These problems are my problems, they are not my audience's problems, learn to separate that.'"
Katy Perry and Russell Brand's marriage lasted from October of 2010 to December of 2011.
Katy also revealed her plans to start her own record label, titled Katy. "And when this record label does come to fruition, I’m going to try and avoid the things that take away any fighting chance for an artist to have financial success," she pledged.

'Brave,' Pixar's New Redhead Movie, Highlights The Studio's Love Of Gingers

Pixar's new movie "Brave," which hits theaters on Friday, could quite possibly have the largest share of redheaded characters of any major studio release in the history of color cinema.
The movie's protagonist, Merida, has red hair, and so do her three mischievous little brothers, who are known only as "The Triplets." All four have inherited their coloring from their father King Fergus, who literally reigns over the mythical Scotland of the movie. And the large-group shots in the movie always include an unusually generous smattering of auburn manes.
But if any company were going to produce such an enthusiastic ode to gingerdom, it was bound to be Disney's Pixar. Since releasing "Toy Story 2" in 1999, the studio has had an unprecedented proportion of redheaded characters in its movies. Every movie the studio has made -- aside from those, like "Cars" and "A Bug's Life," that are not about humans -- has featured at least one redhead. Judging from Pixar's oeuvre, one would never guess that fewer than 2 percent of the people alive today have red hair.
Merida is not even the the first Pixar protagonist with red hair; that honor was claimed in 2007 by lanky, hapless Linguini of "Ratatouille."
"Brave" producer Katherine Sarafian chalked up the red manes of the new movie's characters to their Scottish heritage. She denied Pixar had any specific agenda behind its use of red hair. She laughed, for example, at the suggestion that it resulted from efforts by Pixar executives Andrew Stanton and Brad Bird -- both strawberry blondes -- to insert themselves into their movies.
"I wouldn't call it random, because it is really thought through carefully for each story," Sarafian said, "But I think it might be hard to relate it to filmmakers' individual looks and how they might want to insert that as a point of view in the movies."
Mark Andrews, the director of "Brave" and the story editor of "Ratatouille," said the driving factor behind the decision to make Merida and Linguini redheaded was artistic.
"Mostly it's a design choice to identify the character quickly from everybody else that's in the shots or in the composition," Andrews told The Huffington Post.
Doing this is easier for an animated movie, as the filmmakers can decide exactly how character looks without having to deal with the limited resources of a casting pool.
"From an artist's point of view, we're always looking for variation, so that not every character would have dark hair, even though that would be more realistic," Andrews said. "One of the great things about animation is that we have that kind of visual control."
But even if the decision to include so many redheads can be traced to pragmatic roots, the potential effects of that decision are tremendous. Pixar's movies -- not including "Brave" -- have grossed $7.25 billion worldwide at the box office. Millions of impressionable children and adolescents have seen each of the studio's releases. For the redheads among them, Pixar's ginger-headed characters present a refreshing change.
Comedian Matt McCarthy, whose stand-up act riffs on his redheadedness, told The Huffington Post that as a child, his hair color made him feel excluded from most mainstream mass culture. "I wish there had been more more redheaded things or red-centric things when I was 3 or 5 years old," he said.
And the impact might be almost as palpable for Pixar's millions of fans who lack ginger-colored tresses. Some of them, especially outside the United States and western Europe, could well have their first real encounter with redheadedness in a Pixar movie.
"In pockets in the world, anti-gingerism is very big," explained Marian Roach, author of "The Roots of Desire," an exploration of the history of redheadedness. "It's really quite tragic. Some people really do hate redheads, often because their family has hated them forever,"
Popular culture has often supported the spread of anti-ginger sentiment by perpetuating narrow stereotypes of the significance of red hair, Roach argued. Those stereotypes are gender-specific: Redheaded women have traditionally been seen as highly sexualized, while redheaded men have usually been depicted as evil or bumbling.
Anne Margaret Daniels, an English professor who has been working on a major study of redheadness since 1997, agreed, adding that prepubescent redheaded girls are largely depicted as rambunctious and free-spirited. For that reason, she said, "By and large, redheaded stereotypes tend to be very positive for girls and somewhat damaging for boys."
It could be argued that Pixar has reaffirmed some of those stereotypes. At one point in "Brave," Merida's brunette mother Queen Elena tells her husband that Merida's stubbornness -- like her redheadedness -- comes from "his side of the family." Jessie from the "Toy Story" sequels and Ellie from "Up" both match Daniels' description of the traditional redheaded girl, for example. And Linguini is nothing if not bumbling.
Andrews did not deny drawing on some cultural artifacts for his movies. "I'm not saying that all redheads are fiery, passionate, wild-at-heart people," he said. "They're probably not. But visually, as hair colors go, they automatically get assigned that choice."
"Because colors inherently have emotion, ideas and information that go with them," he said. "Red is a warning; it's hot, passionate, dangerous, wild."
Among the many flame-haired characters that Pixar has created, there's a great deal of variation. It's not like they all fit in one basket. Merida, for example, is too richly drawn and contradictory to fit any one stereotype very easily.
And judging from Andrews' inbox, many redheads seem to be thrilled to have a chance in the spotlight.
"We've been getting tons of emails and mail saying, 'Thank you for creating a redheaded character. Now there's a character for us, Signed fellow redheads,'" Andrews said. "And I'm all, 'Where were you when "The Little Mermaid" came out? Where were you when "Pippi Longstocking" came out?'
"Redheads have been in movies for a while, especially in animation. Daphne in 'Scooby Doo' is a redhead," he said. "There's a lot of these iconic redheaded heroines in animation. Merida's not the first one."
Nor is she likely to be the last, if Pixar continues recent trends.
